21/06/2023: OPEN WORKSHOP (SEQUENCE)
This was our first Open Workshop and an opportunity for those not part of our Resident Creatives to get involved - after having questions posed to us about how to take part in a workshop we decided to open our process to the public on social media. This workshop was also very kindly hosted by Theatre Deli!
Our stimulus for this workshop was Cy Twombly's artwork - specifically Venus and Untitled ('Bacchus'). We were particularly interested in exploring aspects of repetitive action and derealisation in line with our theme of "Sequence".
We began by taking a set of pre-written lines and sequencing them in different ways with additions and modifications to tell a different story with each variation. Once we had established some common threads we began to explore reptitive action through physical theatre - first of all by identifying some of these actions, then finding a way to combine and sequence them.
Our outcome for this workshop was a physical theatre piece that was acted in unison with a devised spoken word piece that was performed as a group.
