    28/05/2023: DISTANT

Our stimulus for this workshop was Jock McFadyen's paintings. In particular we wanted to explore aspects of physical theatre and soundscaping to create a collaborative piece.

Out initial starting point of discussion and stream of consciousness writing worked well in SHADOW, so we went through these activities together again, and brought out some common themes - isolation, reclamation of nature, and monstrosity.

We went into this workshop with the intention of exploring a new medium in soundscaping, and so we started to think about what sounds could be made by a hypothetical monster or creature. We expanded this into creating physical theatre sequences and  movement pieces based on attributes of the monster we made.

Practitioners involved - Maple Baker, Poppy Platt, Zachary Elliot-Jones, Kate Fraser, Andrew Hurrell, Clémence Bénard, Isaiah James-Mitchell and Phil Saxby
